There’s CAN and then there’s SHOULD
Flashback a couple decades to the days when this pilot fish is working for an organization that has just about maxed out the available storage for its minicomputer.
“I arranged for a new rack to be purchased and installed,” says fish.
“On the day of the installation, the computer operator asked the electrician whether or not to shut down the computer. The electrician said he could install the line without shutting down the system.
“The operator watched as the electrician ran the line, hooked up the new rack, and powered it all up.
“It was all but done as the electrician brought the front panel of the breaker panel back to re-install it — and hit the panel’s master power breaker with the panel.
