Flashback to 1999, when this IT pilot fish is in the Air Force, working as a medical technician.

“As we were getting ready for Y2k, we were to check every piece of equipment and place a sticker on it that it was Y2k-compliant,” says fish.

“We received printed lists of equipment, which included such items as heart monitors, electronic blood pressure cuffs and such. It also included standing, manual scales for weighing patients — the kind with no electronics of any sort.

“By Air Force regulation, we were required to inspect and place stickers any item on the equipment list, including those manually calibrated scales.

“The stickers were still in place when I retired in 2004.”
