Apple to host "Hour of Code" workshops at its stores next week
Apple on Dec. 11 will welcome to its stores around the world those wanting to take part in the Code.org Hour of Code programming initiative.
If you’re interested in taking part in an Apple Store workshop, act fast since slots are filling up already. Apple will be hosting engineers and developers to teach students at select stores around the world.
The Hour of Code is the main event during the Computer Science Education Week (Dec. 8-14) that non-profit Code.org is spearheading to inspire K-12 students to take an interest in computer science. Code.org has sought to make the tutorials in its arsenal as engaging as possible for kids. For example, it has partnered with Disney Interactive to create a tutorial featuring characters from the movie “Frozen.”
